Event Technical Support Team Lead

At PLG Group, we connect people with culture — from concerts, theatre, and festivals to exhibitions and other live events across the Czech Republic and Slovakia. PLG Czech Republic consists of three strong local brands with a long tradition: Ticketportal has been on the scene since 2002, GoOut since 2011, and Ticketstream since 2001. Our long-term goal is to provide partners and customers with simple access to every corner of cultural and sports life. On our platforms, everyone can find an event that is just right for them and purchase tickets immediately.

💚 Your role

We are looking for an experienced Team Lead who can combine a solid technical understanding of
ticketing and access systems with leadership of a four-person team. You will be accountable for reliable
system integrations at major arenas and for helping tens of thousands of visitors enter concerts, sports
matches and other high-profile events smoothly and without disruption.
This role suits someone who enjoys solving complex technical and operational challenges involving
hardware, APIs, processes and cross-functional collaboration – and who can lead people, set priorities
and take ownership of outcomes.

What you will do:

Team leadership

  •  Lead a four-person team, organise its workload, assign tasks and support colleagues in resolving
  • issues.
  • Set priorities and manage team capacity, especially during seasonal peaks and ahead of major events.
  • Set objectives, provide feedback and evaluate team performance.
  • Develop team members and systematically share knowledge of systems and processes.

Technical ownership of integrations

  • Take end-to-end ownership of technical integrations for O2 arena, O2 universum and other major venues – from integration logic and configuration to designing systemic solutions for non-standard requirements.
  • Translate the operational needs of colleagues and partners into technical requirements and understand the API communication underpinning the integrations.
  • Build key process and technical documentation from the ground up and keep it current, ensuring that critical know-how is not dependent on individual team members.
  • Lead the transition to a new ticket validation platform: make configuration decisions, coordinate testing and work with the international development team on bugs, new features and priorities.

Planning complex events

  • Design access and ticket-validation solutions for large-scale, complex and operationally high-risk events.
  • Review and approve turnstile-zone setups and configurations before critical events go live.

Processes and collaboration

  • Identify weak points in processes across technical operations, warehouse, communications and sales, and drive improvements through to implementation.
  • Improve and standardise the system for submitting technical requests.
  • Establish clear communication with promoters so the team receives sufficient information in time and can respond to changing conditions.
  • Define, implement and continuously manage SLAs and escalation paths for technical requests across the company.

What we’re looking for:

MUST-HAVE REQUIREMENTS

  • Proven experience leading a small team, including workload planning, prioritisation, feedback and people development.
  • A solid understanding of APIs, system integrations and the interaction between software, hardware and operations; relevant backgrounds may include Integration Specialist, Technical Product Owner, IT Project Manager or a similar role.
  • The ability to take ownership of complex technical integrations and make decisions about their design, configuration and non-standard scenarios.
  • Hands-on experience building processes and technical documentation from the ground up, rather than only following existing procedures.
  • The ability to define and enforce SLAs, priorities and escalation procedures across teams.
  • Clear, resilient communication with multiple departments, partners and stakeholders at the same time.
  • A proactive, practical approach to problem-solving and the ability to perform under pressure during critical events and seasonal peaks.
  • English at a level that enables regular communication with an international development team.

  • A new ticket validation platform whose rollout you will help lead.
  • API integrations between ticketing and access-control systems.

  • understanding; day-to-day administration is handled by the operations team.
